The Passion Conference in Austin, TX in 1998 had a major impact on my life.
You know...the one with Beth Moore, Louie Giglio, David Crowder...well, forget all of that!

This was the one of the clearest times that the Living God spoke directly to me.
We had just finished attending a worship service, and the leader asked everyone to go to a quiet place and seek God. So, I went out to the foyer of the convention center and laid down. I can still feel my face on that gray, cold, concrete floor.
"Alright, Lord. I am all yours. Speak to me."

Now, I was a freshman in college, pursuing a degree in International Business and possessing a deep desire to travel the world as an executive business woman. Speaking foreign languages. Wearing lots of high heels and business suits, the black jacket with a short skirt kind.
Then as clear as a bell, the still, small voice said,
"You will travel the world. Not for you, but for me. For a gospel purpose."
The voice was so evident. The instructions so clear.
So, I began researching mission agencies, desperately wanting to travel the next several summers doing mission work. I spent a summer in Vienna, Austria, a summer in Harare, Zimbabwe and a summer in Philadelphia, PA. The first two trips were spent working with kids and churches. The summer in PA was an internship in the recruitment office of a mission agency. The summers were fun, they taught me a lot, and I still keep in touch with many people that I met.

But, I believe the Lord is still fulfilling that calling. I did not know how it would be fulfilled. I didn't feel called to be a missionary--I really felt called to TRAVEL for a gospel purpose--whatever that meant.
God was still unfolding His plan...
This is my story...
